The U.S. Taekwondo Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 2007 by founder Grand Master Kyung won Kim. With the mission of instilling strong moral principles through mental and physical discipline into the mainstream of our public school systems. Its purpose is to train leaders and educators in the ways of Taekwondo. To provide them with the proper tools in helping their students achieve improved study skills through the character development of focus and self-discipline by the practicing of Taekwondo techniques to produce future leaders in various fields through the world.

Every year, U.S.T.E.F. holds their annual conference for principles, public school teachers and Taekwondo leaders to educate them in the benefits of using Taekwondo Education as part of the Public School system by providing it within the community.

The foundation also hosts annually the Taekwondo Open Championship, an event that allows Public School teams the opportunity to compete and showcase their level of Taekwondo skills and teamwork as a result of Taekwondo classes in their schools.

This year, 2010, will begin the third year of the U.S.T.E.F. directing their Master’s Public School Taekwondo Education Internship Program, sponsored by the Korean Cultural Service in New York.  This program provides Korean Masters short and long- term Internships to train them in how to teach Taekwondo in an actual Public school class settings and how to communicate with teachers and parents through proper English. This experience becomes an invaluable lesson that prepares Masters for future job opportunities in the U.S.

The U.S.T.E.F. is responsible for facilitating the research and study of the effects of Taekwondo Education and the direct correlation between physical and mental training through  Harvard University and Babson College.The result of these studies will soon be made available to provide accurate information to our Public School providers to allow the program to be accepted into their school system.

With the combined effort and passion to the Public School Taekwondo Education cause, our Taekwondo Education has spread out to various states which are Massachusetts, New York, California, Michigan, Kentucky, Washington, North Carolina, Florida, Missouri, and Rhode Island.   Worldwide, we are expanding globally to Hondouras, and India.
